Business Intelligence 2.0 - the evolution of intelligent decision making
The first two decades of data warehousing were focused on data – data integration, data quality, data provisioning – but the next two decades will be concerned with decisions. Better data does not necessarily lead to better decisions, better decision processes do. A blueprint for BI has to be based on decision-making, not data. The right strategy is not to implement a system based on overt requirements, but to look deeper and frame a solution that is useful for the enterprise and is scalable and agile enough to support discovery of new ideas without redesign.
What does it mean to provide “intelligence” to people and operations? How do systems become intelligent? The enemy of intelligent systems and organisation is stasis. Becoming intelligent involves collaboration, sharing, and the ability to publish and modify analytical applications, not just data. This session will provide key insights into the next generation of BI and DW which will drive the evolution of the intelligence enterprise.Neil Raden Founder & CEO

Case Study Session
Process-aware BI – “BI without process is just data.”
- How do you align BI with Business Process to deliver “actionable information” and at the same time achieve CPM/EPM (Corporate/Enterprise Performance Management) and KM (Knowledge Management) objectives?
- Why is Process-aware BI important in an increasingly “mobile” world?
The Metcash BI Group are currently working on the creation of "process aware" Business Intelligence through BPM alignment to achieve CPM (Corporate Performance Management) objectives. Underpinning this is a framework for Knowledge Management so that intellectual capital is preserved and available for re-use (eg. new employee induction). In this session Richard will share some insights from the project and reveal why Process-Aware BI is so important.
